Proposal for holding 9th Annual Conference of ISRPTCON 2017 at Aligarh Muslim University

The Indian Society for Rational Pharmacotherapeutics (ISRPT), established in the year 2007, is a national non-profit scientific organisation, which aims to foster rational pharmacotherapy both scientifically and academically, and enhance all aspects of the safety issues of medicines. Main objective of the ISRPT is to foster science and learning in rational pharmacotherapeutics all over India.

During the 8th Annual Meeting of IRSPTCON 2017 held at Raigarh (Chattisgarh) on February 10-11, 2017, Executive Committee and General Body of ISRPT decided to hold the 9th Annual Conference of ISRPT at Aligarh on November 19-21, 2017. Dr. S. Z. Rahman who is a Life Member of ISRPT since 2007 was invited to dispense his duties as Organizing Secretary of the proposed event and the Department of Pharmacology, JNMC, Aligarh Muslim University was proposed to be the host institution. In this connection, Letter of Invitation was received from General Secretary of ISRPT. Accordingly the proposal of holding ISRPTCON-2017 was put before BOS of the Dept. of Pharmacology in its meeting held on March 28, 2017 wherein it was unanimously supported by all members and it was resolved that the dept. shall host the conference during 19-21 November, 2017. BOS pledged to lend full support and cooperation in this direction. Further it was resolved that Prof. Mohammad Nasiruddin shall be the Organizing Chairman whereas Dr. S. Z. Rahman shall serve as the Organizing Secretary of the conference. All other faculty members of the JNMC will chair different committees other than scientific committee. They shall be wholly and exclusively responsible for the activity assigned to them and shall choose their own team of committee members and volunteers from amongst their students and scholars.

Accordingly below-detailed proposal is mooted for approval of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, AMU along with a request for grant of seed money as financial assistance for the proposed event by the AMU.

Department of Pharmacology, Aligarh Muslim University shall host the 9th Annual Conference of Indian Society for Rational Pharmacotherapeutics 2017, hereafter to be referred as ISRPTCON-2017 from November 19-21, 2017. Department shall lend all possible support including logistic, material and manpower support for the smooth and successful conduct of the conference. Theme of the conference shall be “Rational Therapeutics – A Step for Healthy Nation" and the theme of Pre-Conference Workshop shall be “Rational Prescribing Among Medical Practitioners”

Dr. Syed Ziaur Rahman, Organizing Secretary and Dr. M. Nasiruddin, Chairman, Organizing Committee will together apply to all prospective funding agencies and will make all efforts to secure adequate financial assistance for successful conduct of the proposed conference. A nominal Registration Fee as decided by the LOC shall be charged from all delegates attending the conference. No TA/DA shall be provided to ISRPT Executive or General Body members for attending the conference. However local hospitality and TA/DA could be provided to invited speakers depending upon the availability of financial assistance from various funding agencies on request, to whichever extent possible. Further modalities of organizing the conference shall be worked out by the Organizing Secretary in consultation with the Local Organizing Committee and/or Scientific Programme Committee.

Proposal will be submitted for the kind consent and necessary approval of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Aligarh Muslim University with a request to grant some financial assistance in the form of seed money for making necessary preparations towards organization of the conference.
